A new study of the bronze belts from Yeghegnadzor, Armenia

Abstract

Among the best-known so-called Urartian materials one can surely find bronze belts : they are thin bronze foil with small holes on the borders to attach it to a leather support, and are usually decorated with embossed images representing the most various depictions. This article deals with the publication of two specimens of decorated bronze belts found in the town of Yeghegnadzor (Armenia), analysing them in detail, presenting different comparisons, and framing them within the context in which the fragments were found.
