Abstract

The following notes focus on some philological and graphical aspects of the archaic texts from Ur, which were given so far few attention. The first note suggests three corrections to the tablet published by E. Burrows as UET II, 87 as well as to the lists of signs and names in UET II. Possible Semitic personal names, to be added to the studies of W. Sommerfeld, are listed in the second note. In the personal names Mes-lu(2)-nu-SE3 and Ses-lu(2)-nu-SE3 the last sign, though generally read se(3), is likely to be assigned the value but. The attestations of the priestess called nunuz(x)-zi and of the divinity Anzu are furthermore analysed in two notes. Lastly, the sign S. 153, so far not interpreted, is identified with the divinity Nirah.
