Abstract

Kunara is situated near Suleymaniyeh, in Iraqi Kurdistan. It covers 7-9 ha and was mainly occupied at the end of the 3rd millennium BC. Since 2015, excavations have concentrated on the lower town, where three Areas (B, C and E) have been opened. This paper presents the second part' of the results of the sixth campaign in 2018. The study of ceramics had two objectives: to specify the occupation sequence and to continue the study of the functional characteristics of the assemblages of each area. About half of the faunal remains discovered between 2012 and 2018 on the entire site have been studied. About twenty domestic and wild species have been identified, including the horse, the lion and the hen.
